Fish lover’s paradise – cooking in Le Marche
This is probably the quietest and the most untouched of our Italian cooking regions that you will experience. The region is divided into four river valleys and lies on the Adriatic coast making it a haven for Italian coastal cuisine.
The tastes of the region
Typical food in Le Marche would consist of Tagliatelle and sugo, Passatelli, grilled rabbit and meat and of course fish. In addition to all of these foods our chef will introduce you to the wines and olive oil that is available locally.
Activities with the chef
This is one of the cooking regions in Italy where you can explore cooking seafood as it is abundantly available here. You will visit the port with our chef and learn how to choice fresh fish. Meat and game is also abundantly eaten here so our chef will be showing you how meat dishes typical to this region are prepared. Along with all of this you will also indulge in wine and olive oil tasting like the other regions. You can also enjoy shopping for the ingredients for you meal at the local market.
Around the region
Italy cooking regions have a lot to offer other than food and this region is no different. Our cooking tour has been worked out in a way that you will also be able to soak in the sights and sounds of the region. You can visit the Abbey of Fiastra which dates back to the 15th century, the nature reserve and the Roman ruins in Urbs Salvia that date back to 1 B.C. The caves at Frassasi or Sibillini mountains too make for good sites to visit if you are inclined to.
